Earthquake / Tsunami in Japan

I was surprised to see this on the news last Thursday. It seemed surreal. ABC has an interesting web site which shows the before and after for a number of different areas.

Take a Look

Go home and hug your family.

Conferences

My conferences are going well so far but I recently found this online and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry so I just sit with my mouth somewhat open and listen to a compilation of many excuses and accusations. Some even sound somewhat familiar.

Rain

We had a rain storm here in Portland Yesterday. I was reminded of a video introduced to me by my friend Shane and I wondered if it might be on youtube. I was pleasantly surprised to find it. It still pulls at my heartstrings. I appreciate the way Rob Bell presents this.

"...as his Dad, I would do anything to get him Home..."

I am grateful for the examples of Fatherhood I have in my life.

(I had to go and take a look at my sleeping boys. I'm glad the're warm and safe tonight)

Winners Don't always come in First

I was talking with a student who is allowing her competitiveness get in the way of her kindness. Being first is more important than kindness. As much ability as she has, others still did not want to be around her.

I asked her who she would like to be friends with and she mentioned a couple of girls in the class - who let others go first and are rarely in the first half of the lines.

When I told her that winners don't always have to be first she almost cried.

I am still asking her to help others rather than get ahead of them but there are times that she makes me smile with her kindness.

Overwelmed

I have been feeling wiped out lately.

I was sent a link to the song "I Refuse"

It wasn't the song that found me but the comment that said "Stop telling God how big your storm is, and start telling your storm how big your God is!"
Wow!

And then I heard this...

Have a Great day
